Moshi Monsters
Pop-up shop proves popular at Whiteleys Shopping Centre.
The shop opening was a major success, with 1700 parents and children making it through the doors. Extra security was drafted in just to cope with the volume of eager attendees.
Dedicated fans came to the event from all over the UK, some traveling for hours from Cardiff and Edinburgh and even a coach organised by Mums to travel in from Peterborough.
Children queuing were kept entertained with free copies of the newly launched Moshi Monsters magazine and meet and greets with the monsters (Poppet and Furi). The highlight for many fans was receiving autographs from Mr Moshi (Moshi creator and CEO, Michael Acton Smith).
Once in the shop, children could play the game and get creative with drawing activities - which they were encouraged to stick up on the wall to share. They could also have their faces painted with their favourite Monster or Moshling (pets of pet monsters) and get their hands on all of the Moshi Monsters products, kept under one roof for the very first time.
Moshi Monsters merchandise, which launched in the UK in January this year, is in big demand as the toys continue to fly from retailers’ shelves.
"We were blown away by the response to the pop-up shop launch yesterday", said Michael Acton Smith. "It's incredible to see the kids interacting with the brand is such a positive way and hearing all of their thoughts and ideas on what they'd like to see next!"
The Moshi Monsters shop will remain open for the remainder of half-term.
