Mobile Distillery's Celsius Selected By Visiware As Its Standardized Java Mobile Porting Solution - Speed And Ease Saves Time And Money

November 28th, 2006 - Mobile Distillery ( www.mobile-distillery.com), a specialist Javaä mobile porting software company today announced a three-year agreement with leading interactive TV organisation Visiware ( www.visiware.com). The deal sees Visiware licensing Mobile Distillery's Celsius V3 open architecture software to enable it to effortlessly port existing and future Java games to more than 450 mobile European, US and Canadian handsets.

Mobile Distillery's solution uniquely addresses the time and expense associated with making Java mobile games available across multiple mobile devices. These issues have widely been identified as major barriers to innovation and creativity, as developers spend a massively disproportionate amount of effort 're-creating' their games for the most popular handsets.

Access to Celsius' extensive 'handset behaviour and bugs' database of over 450 global handsets, through its pre-processor and optimisers provides developers with a competitive advantage, gaining time and reducing cost. Now, Visiware's developers no longer need to tailor source code for each handset available. Once written the intelligent Celsius software processes the source code into the best quality and optimized Java jar/jad for each handset, taking care of keyboard mapping management, text & fonts, sprites, sounds, http connection, accessing heap memory, etc.

Laurant Weill, Executive Chairman, Visiware said, "Having access to the Celsius software enables our contractors and developers to operate within a powerful, unified development framework. We need to produce multitudes of builds under stringent time constraints and Mobile Distillery is helping us make the game porting process faster and manageable across our network of partners and clients."

"We are at a crunch time for the mobile game industry. In order for it to grow profitably, developers need to be able to focus on creativity and not on the base line nuances that make up a mobile phone." said Vincent Berge, co-founder and general manager, Mobile Distillery.

Under the agreement, Visiware will use the Celsius V3 software to port over its games onto mobile devices over three years. Celsius's ease-of-use and scalable architecture enables developers to simply manage and update original source code for all new up-coming handsets, thus playing a vital role in the triple play (TV-MOBILE-BROADBAND) vision that Visiware is dedicated to supplying to the gaming community.

"Working for a leader like Visiware demonstrates the maturity of our technology and the shared vision for the evolution of gaming technologies and accessibility platforms. Enabling all our customers, including Visiware, access to our solution ensures that we can provide them with the ability to keep up with the changing developments within the industry and stay ahead of their competitors." added Vincent Berge, Mobile Distillery.
