Rock Band night to be held in San Francisco in December in support of Child's Play.
San Francisco, California — September 9, 2010 — Tired of trying to find time in your busy schedule to help a worthy cause during the holiday season? Fear not, brave soul, for Ümloud! 2010, a Rock Band TM night for Child’s Play, is right around the corner! Child’s Play is a “gamers’ charity” started by Penny Arcade’s Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik that provides toys and games to children’s hospitals around the country, including Oakland Children’s Hospital.
“This year, we’re upping our game to ensure Ümloud! is bigger, better, and more importantly, louder than ever before,” saysÜmloud! co-founder Chris Kohler. “There’s never been a better reason to get together with your friends and play Rock Band.”
Gaming industry veterans Chris Kohler (Wired.com), Joe Markert (Gamehelper), and John “Seg” Seggerson (Telltale Games) will lead the night of shenanigans at San Francisco’s DNA Lounge. The event will feature a massive stage decked out with the latest Rock Band TM 3 gear and a huge set list of songs to choose from to make your facemelting stage debut, all provided by Harmonix Music Systems. Additionally, there will be a loot-tastic silent auction and raffle choc full of sweet gaming, tech, music and pop-culture booty!
