Mitsui cancels European GP32 launch
Hardware manufacturer Mitsui has announced that the release of the GP32 handheld console in Europe, which had been scheduled for March 2004, has now been cancelled.
The launch of the system, which was created by Korean company Gamepark and had already achieved a significant niche following thanks to its ability to emulate older systems and play back video as well as running original games, had already been delayed several times.
Mitsui cited the instability of Gamepark's financial situation as the reason for cancelling the launch; according to international reseller Lik Sang, Gamepark has been criticised in the past for its lack of support for both resellers and developers.
