Mighty Troglodytes launches mobile gaming contest

French studio seeks out new design talent

French mobile games studio The Mighty Troglodytes has launched a new pixel artist competition designed to discover new talent and collaboration opportunities.

Entrants must produce a character design in Isometric 3D, measuring 32 by 32 pixels and using a maximum of 16 colours. They must also supply a pen and paper drawing of the character in JPEG format.

In addition, entrants must deliver an animation showing the character walking over six frames, and a six tile background inspired by The Mighty Troglodytes title Adventure Boy. The background must feature at least one palm tree and one stone, and must loop.

The studio will draw up a shortlist of the 10 best entries, and three winners will eventually be chosen. They will receive a mobile phone (either a Nokia N73, an LG Chocolate or a Motorola Razr) and all five TMT games - Lucky Luke Outlaws, Crazy Dog, Smash the Mole, Gob 'n' Frog and Adventure Boy.

Entrants must be over 18, and the closing date is January 15. For more information and to submit your design, visit the TMT website.
