Midway Wins Prestigious BAFTA Award For Rise And Fall: Civilizations At War

London - October 6th, 2006 - Midway Games Ltd., a subsidiary of Midway Games Inc. (NYSE: MWY), a leading interactive entertainment publisher and developer, is pleased to announce winning a prestigious BAFTA award for 'Best Strategy Game' for the recently released Rise and Fall: Civilizations at War on PC at this year's British Academy Video Games Awards, held last night in London.
The hotly contested category saw Rise and Fall pitched against some of the biggest franchises in the strategy genre, but Midway's chart-topping first entry into the PC gaming sector ultimately won over the judges from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
Midway's European Marketing Director, Al King, accepted the award, paying special tribute to Mark Caldwell, the game's producer.
"This is an awesome recognition of Midway's first ever PC title," said King. "Our development team did an incredible job of delivering a genuinely new strategy experience and they will be delighted to have won such a coveted award."
