Midway And Epic Games Prepare To Ship First Ever Next-Gen Unreal Tournament Console Game In Europe

Unreal Tournament 3 is set to ship on February 22nd, for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system in Europe.

London - 19th February , 2008 - Midway Games Ltd., a subsidiary of Midway Games Inc. (NYSE: MWY), today announced the European ship date of Epic's highly acclaimed, Unreal Tournament® 3 on Sony's PlayStation®3.

The game, which hits shelves on 22nd February, 2008 in Europe, follows on from a phenomenally successful worldwide release of the PC version at the end of last year. Factoring in the launch of the PS3 version in North America on the 11th December, Midway has already shipped over 1.2million units of this fantastic FPS.

Backed by a comprehensive multi-million Euro marketing campaign, UT3 has had an enormous TV presence, as well as generating over 1billion page impressions on its online activity. The strategic trade activities, such as hardware bundles and localized in-store activity have been bolstered significantly through partnering with SCEE, who will also be jointly promoting UT3 on PS3 and God of War on PSP® at a combined launch event in Paris.

Martin Spiess, European Managing Director of Midway Games Ltd., said, "The separated format releases have worked well, effectively giving each sku its own space. Epic has delivered a game of impeccable quality and superb playability, and sales figures clearly show the timing was also spot on." He added, "It's impossible to overstate the strategic value we place on the Unreal franchise, which is why we're investing considerably in bespoke launches for each of the games' formats."
