Microsoft reveals international air times for Xbox 2 unveiling

The half-hour MTV special which will show off the Xbox 2 for the first time on May 12th in the USA has been confirmed for broadcast in a number of international territories on the following day.

The half-hour MTV special which will show off the Xbox 2 for the first time on May 12th in the USA has been confirmed for broadcast in a number of international territories on the following day.

The show, titled MTV Presents: The Next Generation Xbox Revealed, was announced yesterday and will be presented by Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood, with a live music performance by The Killers.

It will broadcast in North America at 9.30pm on Thursday, May 12th, followed by airing in Japan and other APAC territories at 11.30 on Friday 13th, and in the evening of Friday in Australia and across Europe.

The broadcast, taking place a week before E3, will give Microsoft several days headstart over rivals Sony and Nintendo in terms of getting its next-generation hardware out in front of consumers.
