Microsoft hails NPD "momentum"
Platform-holder claims US retailers believe Kinect is the "top priority this Holiday"
Microsoft has responded to the release of June's NPD software and hardware sales results - which saw purchasing of the Xbox 360 jump by 88 per cent year-on-year following the release of the new Slim edition - by hailing the company's "momentum" going into the second half of the year.
Additionally the company has claimed that feedback from retailers indicates continued "strong demand for the new consoles" with businesses ordering "as many units as Microsoft is able to supply".
And the platform-holder's confidence also extends to the forthcoming release of Kinect: "Collectively, Microsoft has also heard from retailers around the US that Kinect and its related games are a top priority this holiday," it noted in a statement.
Pricing for the motion camera system is set to be revealed at gamescom next month, although rumours have put it at around the $150 mark.
