MFORMA launches Call of Duty 2 for mobiles
Activision's acclaimed war title goes wireless worldwide
Mobile entertainment publisher and distributor, MFORMA, has announced the release of Activision's Call of Duty 2, which will shortly be available for mobile phone users worldwide.
A sequel to 2004's critically acclaimed Call of Duty mobile game, the latest offering plunges players in the centre of intense WWII battles, featuring twelve missions during the last four years of the WWII conflict and culminating in an epic battle on the banks of the Rhine.
The storyline follows closely that of Activision's console game, encompassing squad-based gameplay, authentic WWII weapons, advanced AI and spectacular graphics. Players can assume the role of British, Russian or American soldiers, fighting through historically accurate scenes from the deserts of North Africa to the sandy beaches of Normandy.
Steve Anderson, senior vice president of global operations at MFORMA commented: "Call of Duty 2 is nothing short of spectacular. The visuals are stunning and the authentic weapons, battles, and missions make this one incredible game with a level of sophistication and detail not seen in other mobile games.
"We have optimised the Call of Duty experience for the mobile user, making it not only a companion to the console version, but a standalone, complete mobile gaming experience in its own right," Anderson added.
With complete control over the actions of a squad of soldiers, players need to be completely aware of their surroundings as they direct their troops to victory, creeping through trenches, crossing enemy filled plains and working as a team to strategically outmanoeuvre the enemy. Each mission provides freedom of choice, with a number of possible actions available for successful completion. Players must make best use of the authentic weaponry and ammunition, including pistols, SMGs, automatic rifles, sniper rifles, anti-tank weapons and frag grenades.
"The depth, detail and visuals for Call of Duty 2 for mobile are amazing," said David Anderson, senior director of business development for Activision."MFORMA has created a top-notch version of Call of Duty 2 that will allow mobile gamers to appreciate the cinematic intensity, explosive action and chaos of battle that are trademarks of the Call of Duty franchise."
