Metacafe CEO Erick Hachenburg Joins K2 Network's Board Of Directors
Hachenburg Brings Experience in Global Online Game Publishing, Operations and Social Media
IRVINE, Calif. December 11, 2007 -- One of the fastest growing companies in the fastest growing segment of the video game industry, K2 Network, has announced the addition of Erick Hachenburg to its board of directors. Hachenburg, a 15-year veteran of the online and gaming industry, is the CEO of Metacafe, one of the world's largest video entertainment sites.
"Erick brings a wealth of experience in all aspects of the online world to K2 Network as we strive to differentiate ourselves by delivering what our gamers want through better community service and our Free2Play pricing model," said Joshua Hong, CEO of K2 Network. "Attracting key board members like Erick couldn't be more timely given his experience and insights gained from founding Pogo.com and building EA's global online publishing business."
Prior to joining Metacafe, Hachenburg was Electronic Art's senior vice president of global online publishing and managing director of EA China. In this role, he developed and led EA's key strategic initiatives, including the company's entry into the digital distribution of retail games, as well as the rapid expansion of EA's Pogo casual games platform and business. He also established EA's online production, operations and publishing capabilities in Asia. Hachenburg joined EA following the company's 2001 acquisition of Pogo.com, the industry leader in the casual games market that Hachenburg founded and built to nearly 1.5 million subscribers.
"This is an exciting time in online entertainment and social media, and companies such as K2 Network face a great opportunity to grow their businesses into global industry leaders," said Hachenburg. "I'm pleased to serve as an advisor to the executive team during this exciting time in the company's history."
