Meqon upgrades physics to version 1.5
Swedish middleware developer Meqon has announced that is has released version 1.5 of its physics system, the Meqon Game Dynamics SDK, and has launched a downloadable version of the new SDK with a full evaluation license.
The company, which already has development deals with companies including Atari, Illusion Softworks and, perhaps most notably, 3D Realms for Duke Nukem Forever, claims to have integrated a large number of advances into v1.5 of the SDK.
According to the firm, it has spent 18 months researching the needs of a large number of game developers working on multiple platforms, resulting in the new version being totally optimised for fast, flexible and efficient game development.
"The release of version 1.5 of our system incorporates a great many technical advances," according to CEO Jonas Lindqvist, "which we believe gives us the most advanced game dynamics system in the world."
"However, we will not rest here," he continued. "Meqon will continue to push the envelope of next generation physics with the 2.0 release targeted for Q4 2005."
An evaluation version of the v1.5 SDK can be downloaded from the Meqon Research website.
