Media Momentum Awards 2010
Berlin0based publisher named 20th in the list of the fastest growing internet companies in Europe.
Berlin, 18th May 2010: During the GP Bullhound Media Momentum Awards 2010 presented on the 12th of May in London, the Berlin-based publisher of online games Frogster achieved position 20 in the list of the fastest growing internet companies in Europe. The awards run by the British investment and technology bank GP Bullhound recognize outstanding entrepreneurial accomplishments and outstanding growth dynamic within the digital economy for the sixth time this year.
A decisive factor in the Media Momentum ranking is a company�s revenue growth within the preceding three years. Frogster has managed to augment its turnover six-fold in one single year from �2.3m at the end of 2008 to �14.7m at the end of 2009. During this period Frogster also increased its workforce from 90 to over 150 employees. Meanwhile the Frogster group employs over 200 people full-time in its headquarters in Berlin and its subsidiaries Frogster America in San Francisco and Frogster Asia in Seoul. Frogster�s board member, Andreas Weidenhaupt was also named one of the most influential people within the MMOG business worldwide achieving ninth position in a ranking by Beckett Massive Online Gamer in their most recent edition No. 25/2010. Coincidently, the leading US American magazine for massively multiplayer online games regards him as the most influential European in the online role-playing market segment.
