GamesIndustry.biz has learned that Media Forensics, the London-based videogames royalty auditor, is planning to build on its European business by expanding into North America.

Media Forensics, which was established in 2002 by Tim Christian and Faye Sieracki, specialises in analysing and auditing royalty and distribution agreements to ensure companies are paid in full.

The service is used by both developers and publishers, with clients including Eurocom, Eutechnyx and Blitz Games, plus ZeniMax Media, parent company to Oblivion developer Bethesda Softworks.

"Having clearly demonstrated that our services are of great financial benefit to our European clients, we are ready to extend our reach to North America," said Christian.

"As the games industry continues to mature it will adopt the audit practices commonly used in other areas of the entertainment sector. For example, it is common in the movie and television segments for âtalentâ - musicians, actors and authors - to engage auditors to perform annual audits of royalties as a matter of course," he continued.

"Media Forensics is ready to fulfil these needs for videogame developers and publishers in North America as well as Europe."
