Mario Kart Wii tops German and Spanish charts

Nintendo's racer continues to top the software sales across Europe

Nintendo's Mario Kart Wii has shot to the top of both the German and Spanish videogame charts this week.

In Germany, Assassin's Creed for the PC took second place while Gran Turismo 5 Prologue dropped two places from last week to number three. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games and Brain Training for the DS took fourth and fifth places respectively.

EA's Command & Conquer 3 expansion pack Kane's Wrath is at six this week, Nintendo's Mario Party DS at seven and Brain Training at eight.

Finishing off the top ten are Wii Play at nine and the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games at ten.

In the Spanish charts, Wii Play stayed in second place while Gran Turismo 5 Prologue dropped two places to three, followed by Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 for the PSP at four and the Wii version at five.

Another PSP title, God of War: Chains of Olympus, is at six, with FIFA 08 for the PS2 at seven. Assassin's Creed for the PC is at eight just ahead of the PS3 version at nine.

Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii dropped four places from last week and sits at number ten in the charts.
