Make-A-Wish launches GameStars charity intiative
UK branch of the charity will make it simpler for the games community to raise money
The UK branch of the Make-A-Wish charity has started GameStars, a new initiative designed to help gamers and the games industry to raise money.
According to Make-A-Wish UK, gaming is at the heart of many of the requests it receives, from wishes for specific gaming equipment to meeting famous developers and streamers.
"For the young people we support, playing video games isn't just a hobby," the organisation said in a statement. "It can be a vital lifeline.
"It allows them to be themselves and stay connected with friends and family despite the confines of illness, hospital and treatment. Or it can simply be a way of escaping the reality of life with a serious illness."
Through GameStars, Make-A-Wish will provide an easy route for those in the games community to raise money -- whether through streaming or other activities. You can find out more about GameStars here.
