Mad Catz signs NFL licensing deal for controllers
US game peripheral manufacturer Mad Catz Interactive has announced the signing of a multi-year license with the NFL, which will see the firm creating customised controllers for each of the league's 32 teams.
While unquestionably a rather less controversial deal than EA's much-reported exclusive deal with the NFL earlier this week, the Mad Catz agreement will form the basis for a significant new range from the manufacturer, with the first controllers launching in January.
"Football is the most watched sport in America and we've given fans one more way to show their team pride," according to Mad Catz CEO Darren Richardson. "With the strength of the NFL property and the extreme popularity of football video games, we are confident this product will score with sports and video game fans alike."
