Mad Catz secures rights to Rock Band Wii peripherals
Third-party accessories provider to make and distribute bass and drum controllers
Mad Catz has announced that it has entered into a multi-year licensing agreement with Nintendo over the rights to produce and distribute peripherals for Rock Band on the Wii console.
Under the agreement, Mad Catz has secured the worldwide rights, barring Asia, to produce the bass guitar and a portable drum set, avaliable from early 2009.
"We are thrilled to enter into this agreement with Nintendo," said Darren Richardson, president and CEO of Mad Catz. "Together we will provide Rock Band fans the opportunity to enhance their gameplay with Mad Catz' premium instruments for Nintendo's extremely popular Wii system."
