MachineWorks announces Prey for mobile phones
Next-gen PC and console title heading to handsets this year
MachineWorks Northwest has announced the signing of an exclusive development and distribution agreement with 3D Realms, granting the worldwide mobile rights to forthcoming first-person shooter title, Prey.
Billed as a dark tale of love, responsibility and sacrifice, Prey tells the story of Tommy, a Cherokee Indian stuck on a reservation and going nowhere. When a sinister organic alien ship abducts the inhabitants of the reserve, Tommy is forced to awaken deep rooted spiritual powers intrinsically linked to his birthright and the mythology of the Cherokee tribe.
The game, developed by Human Head Studios and produced by 3D Realms, is scheduled for a summer release on PC and Xbox 360, and enjoyed a warm reception at last week's E3 expo in Los Angeles.
MachineWorks - responsible for several wireless titles including the creation of Duke Nukem Mobile and Duke Nukem Bikini Project - will be handling the mobile development and distribution of Prey for mobiles, although a launch date for the title has yet to be confirmed.
