Atari's parent company Infogrames has posted an operating loss of EUR 33.4 million for the six months ended September 30th, up from the EUR 45.4 million loss it reported for the same period last year.

Although US sales of Atari products had helped the company narrow its loss for the period, it still suffered a drop in sales from EUR 123 million to EUR 105.5 million as Infogrames released fewer titles.

Sales in Europe and Asia accounted for 63 per cent of the group's revenue, with the US making up the other 37 per cent.

Gross margins were up to EUR 41.9 per cent of sales compared to EUR 34.3 per cent in the previous year, with net loss widening from EUR 31.1 million to EUR 41.8 million.
