AndinaTech, a specialized mobile content distributor in Latin
America, continues its drive to become the one-stop shop for
mobile game developers and publishers worldwide, who want to
see their titles distributed in the region without having to
deal with the myriad of business, legal, accounting and tax
issues of the different countries.
"We first established a reputation and a solid base for
distribution. Now I feel we can market ourselves more
openly", says founder Ana Paola Teixeira. "We wanted to have
something more than the first-mover experience to show before
attending conferences in the US and Europe. Now we have the
sales and the marketing intelligence for Latin
America".
Bruno Zani, VP Marketing, presented some of AndinaTech's case
studies in the Contenido Movil America 2006 in Miami this
year. Zani says that there are many "barriers to traffic",
such as the number of prepaid mobile phones and terminals
replacement. But the aggregate market - all Latam countries
put together - is potentially very large. Partnering with a
local distributor, according to him, should expedite any
international project since dealing with local carriers can
represent an unattractive financial effort to most players.
Moreover, exploiting the opportunities provided by the local
calendars of events to promote titles and increase traffic is
something only a local company can do.
Upon attending the Game Developers Conference, Claudio
Basoalto, Games Product Manager said "I learned a lot and was
able to strike very good contracts. Every mobile game
publisher to whom I spoke said they would rather have one
reliable partner for the whole region. That is where we are
heading and that is where we want to take the titles in our
portfolio".
Ana Paola Teixeira will be attending the E3, ready to talk
business with publishers and developers interested in
distributing through AndinaTech. "Our focus is both the
short-term revenue stream and the long term relationship.
They have the titles. We know the market, the operators, the
final user. So, of course I want to speak to as many
publishers as possible to come back home with deals that are
good for both parties".
In the course of this year, AndinaTech increased its outreach
by signing another contract, this time with TIM, Brazil`s
second largest mobile network operator, with 20 million
users. On the games end, 8 new top titles and 18 casual games
were added to its already extensive portfolio.
