London MCM Expo 2008

Street Fighter IV, Koei-related cosplay and Dead Space among the highlights.

London MCM Expo Dates: 25-26 October 2008

Location: Excel Centre, E16 1XL, London.

With support from the video game industry’s heavy weight publishers, an expected attendance of 30,000, a whole host of European exclusive first-plays of the games set to dominate the Christmas charts, and now an established date in this year’s London Games Festival, the London MCM Expo once again proves it’s the consumer event for the video game industry.

Exhibiting this October is Capcom, showing off the title gamers have been waiting over a decade for; Street Fighter IV, while Japanese giant Koei brings with it the hotly anticipated titles set to dazzle the Tokyo Games Show and showing them off in Europe for the first time at the MCM Expo, while also offering consumers exclusive merchandise, competitions and support for the many fans that attend the expo in Koei-related cosplay.

EA Games will have its scary space-age thriller Dead Space available to play along with exclusive footage, while artist & writer of the creepy comic book of the same name, Ben Templesmith and Antony Johnston, will also be making appearances. The comic book theme continues with Midway’s stand promoting Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe while Ubisoft offers helping of the latest iterations of its Prince of Persia, Far Cry and Naruto franchises.

Leading web hangout, Gaia Online, with over seven million unique hits a month, will also be holding an industry panel where members of the site can find out the latest features and games heading their way, as well as pick up exclusive items and much loved gold – only available at the London MCM Expo.

Brand and marketing director Bryan Coney states; “we are delighted that as MCM Expo grows so does its video game content. With so many video games tied in with movie, TV and Anime franchisees the synergy is perfect. A perfect example is EA Games Dead Space which is on show along with a promotion for the animated movie DVD release from Starz Home Entertainment.”
