London Games Festival opens its doors to the Lizards' Lair
The first ever London Games Festival will open its doors to some of the most creative people out there.the gaming public. October 3rd will see would be developers and creative geniuses come from out of the wood-work to pitch their game concepts to some of the best minds in the industry.
Those daring enough to step into the Lizards' Lair stand to win great prizes including one weeks work experience and possibly the chance to see their gaming ideas come to life!
Whittled down to a shortlist of impressive videogame concepts, members of the public will have to hold their nerve in front of 150 people and present what they see as the next Lara, Sonic or Mario.
Lizards' Lair, a centre-piece of the first London Games Festival, will be judged by key movers and shakers from the industry. Panellists include Ian Livingstone, creative director of Eidos the company responsible for taking Lara Croft from a handful of pixels to a global superstar, and Paul Durrant, director of Dare to be Digital, the premier games creation competition in the UK.
Paul commented 'It's fantastic to see young people being given the opportunity to present to some of the most influential people in the games industry. This could be a spring-board for their careers, and for some great new ideas for gaming.
The London Games Festival is the brainchild of publishers association ELSPA and independent developers association Tiga after the London Development Agency's Creative London arm facilitated the two organisations coming together for this event.
