Duke Nukem Forever to make first UK appearance on October 7th.

Monday 4 th October: Organisers of the London Games festival have today announced yet more additions to the huge number of events taking place during the capital's busy month of gaming.
With the inclusion of Duke Nukem Forever®'s arrival to the UK, charity SpecialEffect's accessible gaming day in Great Ormond Street Hospital, the Britain's Best Nintendo Gamer competition and an event confirmed for new multiplayer title Breach, the festival is now bursting with things to do for anyone that wants to get involved.
Details of the new events are as follows;
Duke Nukem Forever will be shown for the first time ever in the UK on 7 th October at The Red Room in Hyde Park, central London. Lucky invitees will be able to play the long-awaited game and will have a chance to chat to a representative from Gearbox Software. Find out more at www.dukenukem.com. After the success of last year's competition, Britain's Best Nintendo Gamer will be making a welcome return. Gamers can compete at participating GAME and Gamestation stores Nationwide on 16 th and 17 th October. Players will 'Coin Battle' on Super Mario Bros. Wii and the top scoring gamer and runner up from each participating store will receive all new first party Wii releases for a year, the Nintendo 3DS on UK release, and all sixteen finalists will shoot it out on the all new GoldenEye 007 for Wii at the Grand Finale in London. The winner will be announced on 29 th October at The Golden Joystick Awards. SpecialEffect, a charity dedicated to h elping physically disabled children and adults to play video games, will be holding an event in Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital School on 21 st October for long-term patients and their friends and families. Games Therapy and technology for everyone to enjoy will include Eye-Gaze gaming and audio-only games for the blind or visually impaired. New multiplayer shooter Breach will have a residency at Gamerbase in HMV Piccadilly Circus on 27 th and 28 th October. Gamers will have a chance to face off against all comers to see if they have what it takes to survive in the adrenaline-fuelled game of guns, traps and destructible cover. "The appeal has now broadened even more, with everything from gaming for children with disabilities to the first ever appearance of Duke Nukem Forever being part of the fun. More events are yet to be announced, even as the festivities begin, making the capital's mix of public and trade oriented proceedings an annual occasion not to be forgotten.

London Games Festival kicked off on 30 th September, with a gala opening and VIP preview at the Eurogamer Expo, Earl's Court. For the following three days (1 st - 3 rd October), the Eurogamer Expo hosted up to 20,000 consumers in the UK's largest gaming exhibition. The Games Invest event took place on 1 st October. A Eurogamer Expo party raising money for GamesAid was held on 1 st October. Presentation of Ivy The Kiwi? and Q&A session with Yuji Naka, creator of Sonic The Hedgehog, took place on 2 nd October at the Eurogamer Expo. Ben 10 event in Leicester Square was held on 2 nd October. Just Dance 2 launch party on 7 th October. The BAFTA Video Game lecture delivered by Media Molecule will be held on 7 th October. Duke Nukem Forever will be exposed for the first time in the UK on 7 th October. Sony PlayStation Game Runner Event on 8 th October. The Nintendo Wii party at Chessington World of Adventures on 9 th October. BoardGameCamp at Whittaker house on 9 th October. The Citizen Game Review of FIFA 11 and PES 2011 will take place on 9 th October. The Power to the Pixel Cross-Media Forum will run from 12 th-15 th October. The Games Media Awards take place on 14 th October. Britain's Best Nintendo Gamer competitions will take place on 16 th and 17 th October at participating GAME and Gamestation stores around the country including GAME, Oxford Street on Saturday 16 th October. SpecialEffect will host an accessible gaming day at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital School on 21 st October. TIGA will hold a developer focussed event of 27 th October. New multiplayer title Breach will have a residency at Gamerbase, HMV, Piccadilly Circus on 27 th and 28 th October. The Golden Joystick Awards will be held on 29 th October. The MCM Expo returns from 29 th-31 st October, bigger and better. The London Games Conference will close the Festival on 4 th November.
