Live From The Top Of The Tower
Telcogames Boost Smartphone Catalogue With Classic Computer Game Nebulus
For Immediate Release:
London, UK, December 21st. Mobile games publisher and distributor Telcogames today released a new version of the videogame classic Nebulus for Symbian smartphones.
Nebulus, which was also known as Tower Toppler in North America and Castelian on the Nintendo Entertainment System, was originally released in 1988. To win the game, players must blow up eight towers by climbing to the top of each. However there are traps, pitfalls and deadly inhabitants throughout each tower which have to be avoided or killed, if the player is not to fall to their death. Nebulus proved so popular that the game was eventually released for nearly a dozen different home computer systems and games consoles.
The new version of Nebulus makes full use of the power, memory, screen size, controls and graphical capabilities of the current generation of Symbian smartphones from Nokia. The graphics are full-screen, bright and colourful, with fast and smooth animation. The gameplay features all of the levels, creatures, baddies, bosses and bonuses of the original game and provides one of the most challenging games yet to reach mobile phones.
The new smartphone version of Nebulus has been created by Telcogames' internal development studio - Smartphone gaming specialist Magic Productions.
Nebulus joins Telcogames' rapidly growing catalogue of high-end titles for Symbian, Brew and Windows Mobile smartphones, based on some of the world's most popular videogames from the16-Bit era. In the past six months, the company has published games including Another World, QWAK and Cannon Fodder, with more to come before the end of 2005.
Niklas Bakos, Head of Content at Telcogames said "Nebulus is an incredibly addictive title, which is every bit as playable, challenging and complex as the original. It proves that with great game design and carefully considered implementation, mobile games can be every bit as much fun as handheld - or even home consoles. We are delighted to offer Nebulus to Smartphone owners worldwide."
Nebulus is available for all Smartphones running the Series 60 (S60) operating system including the: Nokia 3230, 6260, 6600, 6620, 6670, 6630, 6680, 6681, 6682, 7610, N-Gage, N-Gage QD, N70 and N90.
