Legends of Norrath™ Against The Void

DENVER, CO. – August 11, 2009 – Gen Con Indy 2009 is fast approaching and it’s time to determine who will be crowned the 2009 Legends of Norrath champion! Sony Online Entertainment LLC (SOE) is giving up to thirty-two of the best Legends of Norrath players a chance to compete in the second-annual tournament for their share of the $25,000 prize purse this August in Indianapolis, IN.
“Last year’s inaugural tournament was a success and the anticipation surrounding this year’s tournament is even more exciting,” said Scott Martins, director of development for SOE Denver. “Hosting a tournament for our dedicated players is a great opportunity for them to showcase the skills they have honed throughout the past year.”
For those who have not yet qualified for the final event, SOE has scheduled Championship Qualifier events on Thursday and Friday, August 13 and 14 at Gen Con Indy 2009. The top two players from each event will win a seat in the Swiss-style gameplay Championship event on Saturday, August 15.
The Gen Con Indy events will qualify up to 23 players to round out the finals. Last year’s champion, Tang Leong, returns to the top 32 along with fellow 2008 finalists Mark Dombrowski, Nicky Wu, So Leong, Philip Schaust, Alexander Horton, Matthew Paul Blumenfeld, Bo Li and Colin Wu. Each player earned a spot by winning a monthly Championship Qualifier between May and August.
Legends of Norrath is an online trading card game based on the world of Norrath from the massively multiplayer online role-playing games EverQuest and EverQuest II. Legends of Norrath is playable from within the MMOs and separately as a stand-alone client using a free SOE Station Account ID (available at www.station.com).
