Leading Publishers Embrace Cascada Mobile for Referral Distribution

Cascada Mobile's TAG Technology Enables Hands-On Mobile, Punch Entertainment and ZWorkbench to Boost Revenues

TORONTO-October 11, 2006-Cascada Mobile, a provider of technology for peer-to-peer mobile content distribution, today announced that leading mobile content publishers Hands-On Mobile, Punch Entertainment and ZWorkbench are using the Cascada TAG Referral Engine to add referral distribution capabilities to their mobile content, including a CBS SportsLine-branded application, Gunslinger and Yamaha's Musician's Companion.

The TAG Engine works by enabling consumers to easily refer mobile phone applications, such as games, to friends and family. It uses advanced business logic to deliver the appropriate application version onto the recipient's phone in only a few clicks.

"These innovative mobile content publishers are among the many that recognize the value that we bring to the mobile market," said Neil Closner, president of Cascada Mobile. "Mobile viral distribution makes content easier for consumers to discover and use and provides a cost effective method for publishers to increase revenues and grow awareness."

Hands-On Mobile will integrate the TAG Engine into new games and applications including the recently launched Fantasy Football Companion by CBS SportsLine, which is available now on Sprint, Cingular Wireless, T-Mobile and Bell Mobility.

"Viral marketing is a powerful tool that has the potential to create mass-market appeal for practically any consumer product or service," said Paul Baldwin, Vice President of Marketing at Hands-On Mobile. "By replicating this model in the mobile market, we can leverage our existing customer base to boost revenue. Our reach will be extended beyond the early adopters familiar with downloading mobile content to a consumer audience that would likely otherwise not know these applications existed."

Punch Entertainment's Gunslinger, a gritty western-style shooter game tailor-made for mobile, will also include referral distribution capabilities. Consumers can choose different characters and engage in gunfight battles to earn money and upgrade characters. With the addition of the TAG Engine, Punch Entertainment will be able to increase the total number of consumers the game reaches using the power of referral distribution. Gunslinger will be available to Cingular subscribers this quarter.

"When consumers are enthralled by mobile content, it inspires them to share with friends," said Tobin Lent, CEO of Punch Entertainment. "By integrating the TAG Engine, users will be able to quickly and easily recommend the game by selecting the 'refer to a friend' option from the menu. Using this technology, we can get the game into the hands of more players and entice them to engage in "shootouts" with friends. It's a great opportunity to generate incremental revenue."

ZWorkbench, which offers mobile software for niche markets and is currently focused on musicians, has added the TAG Engine to the Yamaha Musician's Companion. This suite of useful applications for musicians includes a guitar cord reference, metronome, and pitch pipe for tuning any instrument. The Yamaha Musician's Companion is available from www.yamaha-wireless.com.

"Musicians are social by nature. They get together in bands for jam sessions and performances and they look to one another for new products," said Chris Garrett, President of ZWorkbench. "We needed a way for customers to be able to easily recommend products and Cascada was a natural fit. It took us less than a day to integrate the TAG Engine into the Musician's Companion. It doesn't get easier than that."

Using the TAG Engine software development kit (SDK), these and other publishers integrate the referral functionality directly into applications. Once a consumer downloads a TAG embedded application it can be recommended to friends, regardless of the recipient's wireless provider or handset type, by selecting the 'tell-a-friend' menu option. The TAG Engine notifies recommendation recipients and automatically determines the compatible application version and download location for the mobile device and operator in question. TAG uses existing carrier and publisher infrastructure, as well as open standards to ensure the entire referral process, including payment for downloads on accepted referrals, is seamless.
