KONAMI’S RENOWNED FROGGER® SERIES RETURNS WITH A GAME FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY

New Frogger Titles Debut on PlayStation 2, Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo DS and the PSP portable entertainment system

LOS ANGELES - Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) Booth #800 - May 17, 2005 - Konami Digital Entertainment - America, a division of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., today revealed additional details about upcoming games in the popular Frogger video game series. The company announced Frogger®: Ancient ShadowTM for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Nintendo GameCubeTM. Konami also revealed that the earlier announced Frogger®: Helmet ChaosTM will be available for both the Nintendo DSTM and the PSPTM portable entertainment system. Taking the classic "hop-n-dodge" gameplay to new dimensions, the games will feature innovative features, new characters, and immersive environments, with more levels than previous games in the popular franchise. As a special bonus for retro gamers all platforms will also include the original 1981 arcade game as an unlockable item.

Frogger: Ancient Shadow is a beautiful 3D action platformer that merges the traditional Frogger "hop-ndodge" gameplay with platforming elements for an exciting new challenge. Gamers join Frogger at his home in Firefly Swamp, where a dark secret has recently been uncovered. When an evil crocodile by the name of Dr. Wani tries to resurrect an ancient evil force that used to inhabit the swamp, it's up to Frogger to save the day. Joining the hero on his adventures is a new playable character, with their own unique skills -- Berry, a fourteen year old Amazon frog who performs as an acrobat in a traveling caravan. Frogger: Ancient Shadow features special gameplay moves such as the double jump and tongue jump as well as a lily pad full of unlockables and extra stages that, when completed, open up additional endgame sequences. In addition, gamers will be able to play with up to three other friends in a series of Frogger mini games.

The first 3D Frogger game for handheld systems, Frogger Helmet Chaos finds Frogger called upon to stop an evil force that threatens his home, Firefly Swamp, and the nearby kingdom of Bunnington Hollow. To stop the insidious Dr. Wani and his destructive mining efforts, Frogger must use all of his hopping and dodging skills, along with many new talents, to infiltrate the mastermind's lair and bring his evil plans crashing down. Frogger Helmet Chaos features more than 30 levels of single player action, unlockable bonuses and playable characters as well as new mini games which allow up to four players to compete via the wireless capabilities of the Nintendo DS and PSP systems.

Frogger captured the hearts of gamers everywhere when it first appeared in arcades in 1981. More than 20 years later with over 20 million games sold to date, Frogger continues to be one of the most memorable and beloved pop culture icons. All of the new Frogger games are slated for release this fall.
