Konami strengthens US mobile operations with new acquisition
Buys up indie studio Blue Label Interactive
Konami Digital Entertainment has signed a deal to acquire California-based mobile content developer Blue Label Interactive in a bid to strengthen its wireless offerings in Western markets - specifically the US.
In a statement, the publisher said: "By merging Konami group's various digital content and Blue Label Interactive Inc's technology and programming expertise, we will satisfy the ever-changing needs of the American entertainment market and move quickly to maximize the effect of the acquisition."
Founded in 1999, Blue Label Interactive is an independent developer and distributor of mobile games and entertainment products, and focuses primarily on the North American wireless markets.
The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, and Konami has made no reference to specific games or interactive content scheduled for release as yet.
