Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH bonds with Glu Mobile to strengthen mobile links

Key Konami properties head to mobiles as publishing giant joins forces with Glu Mobile for exclusive European partnership

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has agreed a wide-ranging distribution deal with Glu Mobile Inc. (Nasdaq: GLUU), a leading global publisher of mobile games, that will see key Konami franchises released for mobile phones across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Australia and New Zealand.

The multi-year partnership leverages Glu's strong distribution in these regions, enabling Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH to distribute key properties to a vast audience of mobile consumers. The production of the titles will be led by Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH's mobile development facilities in Europe, and product lineup and details will be announced shortly. The first titles covered by the partnership will launch in the second half of 2007.

"Konami is one of the most respected creators of games for console and handheld platforms," said Kristian Segerstrale, Managing Director of Glu Mobile, EMEA. "We are delighted to extend the reach of Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH's highly successful titles to a new mobile audience across EMEA and Oceania."

"Glu's reputation and track record of creating hits on mobile made them the partner of choice for bringing our key titles to mobile gamers in these key regions," added Kunio Neo, President of Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. "Our collaboration with Glu will ensure that the Konami games that people love will be quickly and easily accessible and available to as many consumers as possible."
