Koei and Tecmo merger worth $207 million

Merger to begin in April 2009

Koei's merger with Ninja Gaiden publisher Tecmo is worth JPY 20 billion (USD 207m), the company's have said.

The merger will officially begin in April 2009 with the formation of a holding company, according to Reuters.

The holding company is expected to generate more than JPY 70 billion (USD 727 million) in sales, with a profit of JPY 16 billion (USD 166.2 million) in operating profit by the year ended March 2012.

In comparison, for the last business year, the combined operating profits of Tecmo and Koei were JPY 8.5 billion (USD 88.3 million), with sales of JPY 41.2 billion (USD 427.9 million).
