Kodo Evolved
Single-handset multiplayer game secures IMGA Innovation award.
STOCKHOLM, Sweden, 19 February, 2009 – Jadestone, the Nordic game developer, announced today that it has won the IMGA Innovation Award.
At Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Jadestone’s Kodo Evolved was selected by the jury as the winner of the IMGA Innovation Award. Mark Ollila, Director Nokia Games Publishing, handed out the prestigious award.
In Kodo Evolved, people can play against each other on the same handset, providing a crowd generating twist on the increasingly important social aspects of gaming. Kodo Evolved was seen by the jury as a great example of innovative use of the mobile phone’s special features.
“We are thrilled to see that the jury had as much fun with the game as we’ve had.” said Tommy Palm, Vice President Mobile at Jadestone, who accepted the award. “Kodo Evolved is a different take on party gaming on a mobile. It’s perfect for a quick match at the pub or on a train. The mobile phone brings many new opportunities for gaming – letting you take the console to your friends instead of the other way around.”
