(Beijing, CHINA) - September 18, 2006 - Through a series of gaming events held in over 20+ countries around the world, the KODE5 Global Gaming Revolution has been spreading its message of competitive gaming to the world. Too long have gamers remained silent. From September 28th ~ 29th, top gamers from around the world will converge onto Beijing, China for the e-sports event of the year - The KODE5 Global Finals. The KODE5 Global Finals celebrates the dedication, hard work, perseverance, and spirit of all gamers who practice day-in and day-out to perfect their game. E-sports requires he same hand-eye coordination, strategy, and teamwork of traditional sports. Thus, it was only fitting to hold the KODE5 Global Finals in a place that is one of the official venues of the 2008 Olympic Games - The Beihang University Sports Center. This multi-sport facility covers almost 14,000 square meters of space, and can accommodate over 4,600 spectators. In 2006, the Beihang University Sports Center will be the venue of the KODE5 Global Finals.

Fans attending the KODE5 Global Finals will have the opportunity to not only meet their favorite players, but also get their autographs during event. The e-sports scene in China is quickly becoming one of the most advanced in the world. Not only are they home to the world's fastest growing gaming community, but e-sports are recognized as an official sport in China. The Beijing Sport Bureau, a government body which oversees the development of sports in Beijing, officially recognizes competitive gaming as a true sport. In fact, KODE5 is the first global e-sports event to work together with All-China Sports Federation (ASCF) to develop methods to standardize and regulate e-sports practices in China. Through this cooperation, KODE5 will be the first global e-sport event officially recognized by the ASCF with the new national standards of China e-sport. By partnering with the Beijing E-Sports Alliance Group, the e-sports arm of the Beijing Sports Bureau, and the ASCF, KODE5 will play a pivotal role in the development of e-sports in China.
