KENKEN Pro by Will Shortz

Now on the Apple App Store.

LOS ANGELES – April 6, 2010 – Capcom Mobile, a leading developer and publisher of mobile games, and NEXTOY today announced the launch of KENKEN Pro by Will Shortz on the Apple App Store for the iPhone and iPod touch.

The brainchild of Japanese Math teacher Tetsuya Miyamoto and made famous by puzzle master Will Shortz, KENKEN Pro takes the typical number puzzle to the next level with a fun and challenging analytical element. The latest edition of the popular iPhone game features a streamlined interface, tons of new puzzles and a tutorial by Shortz himself.

In KENKEN players unravel the puzzle by entering the correct numbers within a 3 x 3 to 9 x 9 sized grid. Like Sudoku, each number can only be used once per row. However, KENKEN Pro ups-the-ante by incorporating basic math functions into the solution. So, while each number can only be used once per row, it must also equate to the numerical value of its respective cage.

KENKEN may seem challenging on the surface, but it’s actually quite easy to learn. In fact, KENKEN is literally child’s play as the game is also a popular math teaching tool for educators worldwide. Furthermore, the game’s popularity continues to see explosive growth with more than 70 periodicals around the world publishing the game including the New York Times’ puzzle section.

KENKEN Pro for the iPhone and iPod touch is currently available at www.capcommobile.com/iphone or via the App Store at www.itunes.com/appstore.
