JoWooD/Playmobil deal
Plastic population to spawn series of games.
London, May 4th , 2010; JoWooD Entertainment and HMH announce the finalization of the distribution agreement between the two companies. The agreement will add the world-renowned and highly successful Playmobil brand to JoWooD’s successful distribution portfolio. The Playmobil series of games will be distributed by JoWooD in Europe (except Germany) and North America.
“We at JoWooD are proud to cooperate with HMH as a confirmation of the distribution strategy that we as a company are focusing on. The localization of all products will be targeted for each market, and a well-designed mix of Marketing and PR activities will form the basis of, and be prerequisite to, our successful world-wide launch. We will take advantage of the existing, multi-faceted potential for brand synergy to absorb capital accordingly”, explains JoWooD’s Head of Publishing Stefan Berger.
“The top brands of the HMH line-up - including Playmobil TM and others - can now be handled by JoWooD Entertainment AG in all relevant countries”, says Dr. Thomas Völcker, HMH. “JoWooD is well-qualified to handle both Distribution and Marketing in all relevant countries. We are looking forward to a successful partnership with JoWooD and positive that our cooperation with JoWooD will result in the best possible international success of the Playmobil titles.”
Our first products of the Playmobil series of games for the UK will be available in June. “Playmobil – Circus“, “Playmobil – Knights“, due to their excellent quality and brand recognition, this should guarantee top placement at retail.
