John Terry signs Pro Evolution Soccer contract extension

England football captain John Terry has signed up for another year as the face of Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer series in the UK.

England football captain John Terry has signed up for another year as the face of Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer series in the UK.

He will take his place on the game's packaging along with Brazilian striker Adriano, who under the terms of a previous deal will appear on the packaging in all European territories.

Konami's UK PR and marketing manager Jon Murphy said Terry had been a picture of professionalism during his stint promoting PES5, noting, "his enthusiasm and obvious love of the game shone through".

Terry himself, who will appear on the UK front cover, in marketing materials and as part of a specially shot TV campaign, describes himself as "a life-long fan of the Pro Evolution Soccer series" - and is one of several well known Premiership footballers, including Arsenal's Thierry Henry, who have spoken of playing the game in their spare time.

"No other game can touch Pro Evolution Soccer 6 in terms of realism," he said. "The way the players move on and off the ball is second to none, and I am honoured to be the face of the best football title around."

Pro Evolution Soccer 6 is due out later this year on PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, PC and PSP, with a DS version also planned. This week Konami will demonstrate the Xbox 360 version for the first time as part of Games Convention in Germany.
