John Cena® Crowned THQ European Superstar Challenge Champion 2005

London 21st November 2005, THQ (UK) Ltd., a subsidiary of THQ Inc. (NASDAQ: THQI), announces WWE® Champion John Cena as THQ European Superstar Challenge Champion 2005. Cena clinched the top prize in this first ever THQ European videogame knock-out tournament held on Thursday, 17th November.

Hosted at Paparazzi, an exclusive venue in Manchester, 300 lucky competition winners were able to get closer to their WWE idols than ever before. In a highly charged atmosphere, WWE® RAW® Superstars and Divas took to the stage to play their virtual selves in THQ's WWE SmackDown® vs. RAW 2006 on Sony Playstation®2. The Superstars and Divas quickly proved they're as skilled in the virtual ring as they are in the real one. After six action packed rounds the finalists emerged for what promised to be a tense and exciting finale.

John Cena and Chris MastersTM faced off in the squared-circle in the most electrifying match of the day. With the title only a single victory away, the competition reached a crescendo as the Superstars traded virtual earth shaking blows and bone-crunching slams. Sensing victory was within his grasp Cena delivered a devastating FU, pinning Masters for the three count, and in doing so claimed the THQ European Superstar Challenge title.
