Joins Borderland Gaming as community manager for Bloodline Champions.
December 10, 2010
Borderland Media Group, LLC has announced that Joel 'Carbonduck' Lee has joined the company's Borderland Gaming division as a community manager for the competitive PC game, Bloodline Champions.
"We are excited to have Joel join our team," said Mike Wiston, Chief Marketing Officer and Co-founder of Borderland Media Group. "He has an unique ability to connect with each and every member of the community on a personal level, which coupled with his strong ambition to build awareness of the Bloodline Champions brand through prize tournaments and programs (such as his Newbie Mentor Program) makes him a valuable asset to both our company and the BLC community."
Joel's previous gaming experience lies heavily with the PC games Counterstrike 1.6 and DotA, where he spent seven (7) years developing an understanding of the competitive gaming scene. In addition to immersing himself in the gaming communities, he went above and beyond to contribute to the games he loved, even going so far as to create a website and custom league system for competitive DotA.
Prior to joining Borderland Gaming, Joel developed and administrated BLC-US, a WordPress blog site focused on growing the severely lacking Bloodline Champions US community. In only two weeks, he had successfully orchestrated multiple tournaments, planned in-house events, a mentor program for new players, in addition to running active forums for BLC players.
With regard to his new position, Joel had this to say: "As BLC Community Manager, all of my energy will be spent in building up the community surrounding Bloodline Champions. Some of the stuff I will be doing is running tournaments, contests, and mentor programs. Basically, if it will help grow the community, I'll be on it!"
