Sammy's latest foray into console Pachinko titles, the anime-licensed Pachinko Slot! Fist of the North Star, was the best selling title in Japan again last week - as a complete lack of new releases led to an overall slide in market value.

The rest of the top three is also unchanged from last week - with Banpresto's PS2 strategy game Super Robot Battle MX at number two, and Capcom's Japanese release of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto: Vice City at number three.

Pachinko Slot! Fist of the North Star sold some 119,000 copies during the week, accounting for over one sixth of all leisure software sold, and is well on its way to breaking through the half million mark.

Once again, the top ten was evenly divided between Sony and Nintendo - with five PS2 titles in the chart, along with three GBA titles and two GameCube titles. The top ranked Cube title was Pikmin 2 at number four, while the top ranked GBA game was Metroid Zero Mission at number six.

In hardware terms, the PlayStation 2 was ahead of its rivals with just over 47 per cent market share, while the Game Boy Advance had just over 43 per cent and the GameCube trailed with eight per cent.
