Jamdat Mobile teams up with Telephia
Mobile publisher signs up with wireless market measurement provider
Mobile games publisher Jamdat Mobile has announced its adoption of audience metrics and wireless market benchmarking services from wireless metrics firm, Telephia.
According to data provided by Telephia, Jamdat Mobile is currently the leading mobile content provider in the US, claiming a 31 per cent share of total market revenue in Q3, 2005. The company's three most popular titles, Bejeweled, Downtown Texas Hold 'Em and classic puzzle game Tetris, accounted for half of Jamdat's market share and secured the top three spots for the last quarter.
Jamdat, which was recently acquired by the mobile division of publishing giant Electronic Arts, intends to leverage Telephia's comprehensive market analysis (including the detailed Audience Metrics products suite) to monitor the rapidly expanding and highly competitive mobile market, benchmarking title-level revenue performance.
Bob Aniello, VP of Marketing at Jamdat Mobile, commented: "It was important for us to partner with a measurement company that could give us the depth of title-level performance detail as well as a broad 360 degree view of the mobile content landscape. Since Telephia is the only reliable data service that can deliver specific title-level performance data, this gives us critical competitive insights."
Founded in 1998, Telephia provides syndicated performance measurement information to more than 50 mobile industry clients, including carriers, device manufacturers, content and application providers, and retailers. In 2005, the company launched its Audience Metrics product suite, delivering mobile content activity intelligence for games, ringtones, wallpapers and graphics, application downloads, premium SMS, and internet, email and IM.
The company's proprietary tracking technology gathers and analyzes detailed audience and revenue metrics each month directly from a panel of 30,000 mobile consumers.
Telephia president, Sid Gorham, added: "Telephia's Audience Metrics for mobile content is the industry standard by which publishers like Jamdat benchmark themselves and their competitors. Our mission is to continue to deliver market intelligence of the highest quality to content providers, as well as carriers and device manufacturers, to help them make informed and precise business decisions."
