Jadestone’s Kodo nominated for prestigious award
Stockholm, Sweden 2006-03-07
Swedish game developer Jadestone today announced that the mobile game Kodo continues its climb up the food chain. The game is nominated for the "Best Independent Game of the Year" Award at this week's official Expressen Game Awards.
Since launch Kodo has gained world wide recognition. The hungry little Kodo has eaten through the competition and the reception has been overwhelming.
Tommy Palm, designer of Kodo, said:
"It's wonderful to get this kind of recognition here in Sweden. When we designed Kodo one of the pillars was to find the right feeling, that coveted "I-just-need-to-have-one-more-go" effect. That the game now obviously is appreciated here as well as, say, in Japan is surely a sign that we've succeeded."
Kodo is a simple and fun action-puzzle game where the competitors struggle to not be eaten. Up to 8 players (on some phone sets 14!) are able to play at the same phone at the same time.
At last years Game Awards, Jadestone was awarded "The Jury Award" for their groundbreaking and innovative e-sports series.
Expressen Game Awards will take place Thursday March 9 at Münchenbryggeriet in Stockholm, Sweden.
