Jadestone sign deal with Nordic media giant
Swedish game developer Jadestone today announced an initial
three-year agreement with Aftonbladet, Sweden's largest
newspaper and part of the Schibsted ASA. The agreement
initially means that both parties immediately will launch a
World Cup version of Sweden's most well-known sports game on
the Internet, the football management game: Drömelvan. The
concept will also be exported and an international launch has
started.
Through the deal Jadestone reinforces its strategy to partner
with leading international media companies in order to offer
the best high-quality online entertainment to consumers
worldwide.
The agreement with Aftonbladet means that Jadestone will
develop the World Cup version of Drömelvan for this summer's
event and subsequent versions for at least three more years.
The game will also be developed for other markets and an
international launch is under way.
- The WC-Drömelvan, will be this summer's big thing in
Sweden. It has perfect timing and who can really resist the
challenge to prove their skills as managers in reality,
instead of just shouting at the TV, said Jonas Jepson
producer at Jadestone. Jadestone has many years of experience
developing online sports games and our version of Drömelvan
is without doubt the most exciting so far.
With more than 10 years of existence Drömelvan is Swedens
best known game on the Swedish sports games market.
Johan Åsén, business developer of Aftonbladet New
Media:
- Drömelvan is an incredibly appreciated game among
Aftonbladet's readers. We're impressed by the competence and
passion provided by Jadestone. This summers Drömelvan will
definitely be much appreciated.
Aftonbladet has an audience of more than 8 million monthly
unique visitors. It is the largest circulation newspaper in
Sweden and its associated website tops the charts in terms of
online traffic & usage.
