It's 'B' Day as Brothers in Arms goes Budget
For Immediate Release June 2006
Focus Multimedia is pleased to announce that the first
instalment of the hugely successful and critically acclaimed
Brothers in Arms franchise; Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill
30, will be joining its Essential range of budget PC software
this summer.
Created by award-winning developer Gearbox Software, a
respected industry leader boasting the creation of Half Life,
Halo and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater amongst many others, Brothers
in Arms: Road to Hill 30 is considered to be the benchmark
against which all other military action games are
measured.
With the WWII theme becoming an increasingly popular segment
of the first-person shooter market, Brothers in Arms: Road to
Hill 30 was created to show gamers the true realism of war -
with authentic missions crafted using after-action reports,
aerial reconnaissance images and eye-witness accounts.
Based on the true story of the 101st Airborne paratroopers
who led the D-Day invasions, players will encounter
historically accurate events and environments as they take on
their perilous journey through 20 epic single-player and ten
multiplayer missions. This first-person shooter is so
realistic that it has even earned endorsements from the
Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation and the Patton
Museum.
Players must assume the role of Sgt. Matt Baker, a D-Day
paratrooper squad leader, leading his squad members and
brothers in arms in a mission through the French countryside.
You must balance their lives with the success of the mission
in an emotionally-charged gameplay experience that has
achieved rave reviews in the gaming press. PC Zone hailed the
initial release as "a technically excellent and innovative
piece of work" and "a triumphant combination of brains and
brawn", whereas IGN put it more simply as, "Amazing".
