iPhone to launch in US on June 29

Priced at USD 499 / 599

In a series of adverts shown over the weekend, Apple has revealed that its new iPhone will go on sale in the US on June 29

The handset will double as a PDA and features a touch screen interface. As highlighted in the adverts, users will be able to perform actions such as surfing the web using their fingers instead of buttons. Two models will be available, priced at USD 499 and USD 599.

So far little is known about the iPhone's gaming functionality. However, companies such as Electronic Arts have already expressed interest in producing games for the phone.

Apple has yet to announce when iPhone will go on sale in Europe and other territories.
