The International Mobile Gaming Awards (IMGA), the mobile entertainment Industry's leading showcase for groundbreaking innovations in mobile gaming, is organising its IMGA SUMMIT for the 1st time. It will start at 9:00 in Hall 7 at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Thursday February 17 2011, which is the last day of the Mobile World Congress.

The Summit starts at 9:00 and the Awards Ceremony will start right afterwards, at 11:00, by announcing the Nominees and the Winners of this 7th Edition.

Prizes will be handed out across a range of 6 categories, as well as the Operators' Choice award, the People's Choice Award and the prestigious Grand Prix .

Now in its seventh year, the IMGA stands as the longest running mobile games awards and is open to any developer from any geographical location. Since it began in 2004, the IMGA has recognized and awarded the most talented game developers on the planet across a broad range of categories.

The IMGA's mission is to recognize and reward the best innovators and the most creative developers of mobile games in the world.. The IMGA was launched in 2004 with the support of Autodesk, Criterion, Euroméditerranée, Fathammer, Ideaworks 3D, Iomo, Intel, Nokia, NVIDIA and Orange. During the last six years the IMGA has reviewed more than 1,400 mobile games originating from over 52 countries including the USA, Ukraine, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, China, the Czech Republic, Brazil and Belgium. Participants include PhD students, researchers, artists, individual developers and the top 10 leading mobile games publishers and developers in the world. The competition is now the mobile entertainment Industry's largest, oldest, most international, leading showcase for groundbreaking innovations, B2B positioned, displaying exceptional quality and new trends in mobile entertainment, whether the games are made for Bada (Samsung), Maemo (Nokia), iPhone, Ovi, Flash, Android, Symbian, Microsoft, Java, Linux, BREW, or any other platform.
