International Mobile Gaming Awards 2008
Deadline extended, so you have till Friday to get that entry in, with nominees to be announced next month.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Marseille, September 22 2008. The International Mobile Gaming Awards (IMGA) have announced today that the deadline for entries is extended with 4 days to Friday September 26, midnight. “Today we see the entries coming in by tens at the time, but we have also received many requests from developers to extend the deadline. We have decided to grant them some more time.” Says Maarten Noyons, CEO and Founder of the IMGA.
Every mobile game developer, man or woman, working for a studio or independent can enter the competition by going to www.imgawards.com and follow the instructions. Entry is free, but the entry needs to be an unpublished mobile game.
The IMGA, founded in 2004, is the largest competition for Mobile Games in the world, with hundreds of studios from more than 40 countries competing for one of the prestigious prizes. This year’s competition has introduced a special prize for games using the location as an essential element in the game using GPS, Geo-tagging, Bluetooth or other techniques. “We are looking for mobile games that make people get up and go, move, meet new friends and get into new unexpected situations with other players outdoors and indoors” says Maarten Noyons.
The nominees for the IMGA will be announced mid-October and the winners will be announced during an Awards Ceremony at the Mobile World Congress in February 2009.
