International Games Summit 2005

Computer and video games industry leaders in London; Entertainment executives to put focus on games

Friday 25 February 2005/... ELSPA (Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association) has announced the dates for the third International Games Summit, the high level conference for senior executives with an interest in the international computer and video games industry.

The two-day annual Summit opens its doors on 21st and 22nd June at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, London, and promises not only wider international focus but also greater networking opportunities for attendees from other entertainment industries, including music, film, mobile and new technology. The ELSPA Games Summit has become a must attend event in the international games industry calendar and from 2005 will embrace a broader cross section of entertainment industry delegates.

It regularly attracts a raft of influential senior speakers from across all sectors. In previous years, memorable - and in some cases headline-grabbing - keynotes have been made by Activision's President of Publishing Kathy Vrabeck, Microsoft's Corporate VP Retail sales and Marketing Peter Moore, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's President and COO David Reeves and Electronic Arts' European boss Gerhard Florin.

This year's event will boast an impressive head count of key luminaries and participants from the field of publishing, development, distribution, retail and media in games, film, TV, music and other media and technology fields.

Roger Bennett, director general of ELSPA, said: "We want to infuse more of the wider entertainment values of our industry into this our third annual Summit. It will be more dynamic and look in more depth at exploiting the commercial synergies of new technologies and cross media opportunities. It will also study the industry's recent and forecasted fiscal and creative development.

"Additionally, from the feedback that we received from 2004 it will allow more extensive networking and commercial opportunities for delegates."

A full line up of speakers and specific event content will be announced shortly. ELSPA will also be confirming the full list of event partners in the next few weeks, the first of which has been confirmed as leading games industry publication MCV, which will be a Games Summit media partner.

The ELSPA International Games Summit 2005 will take place on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd June at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, London, W8 UK. It is being organised by PR, events and industry consultants Barrington Harvey.
