International App Conference & AppJam

First speakers confirmed for November's do.

Dundee, September 16th 2010. The International AppConference has confirmed the first speakers participating in the event, which takes place at Discovery Point in Dundee on November 8th-10 th 2010. Speakers so far confirmed are:

Mark Ettle– Managing Director of Dundee-based Cobra Mobile, creator of iBomber, Low Grav Racer and other best-selling games John Chasey - Managing director of Finblade, Metismo and co-founder of IOMO, one of the first specialist mobile studios in the UK. Thomas Joos – Founder of mobile consultancy, designer & developer GladiatorMedia.be Jeroen Retrae and Lyan van Furth - Mobilio.nl co-founders Paul Trowe– Founder of Replay Games, USA, creators of downloadable content for next generation platforms Loretta Maxfield – Intellectual Property specialist from Thorntons Law. Mobile giant Nokia and Steel Media, the publisher of leading mobile gaming site, Pocket Gamer have also confirmed their participation.

The international AppConference, which will run alongside the 48 hour development challenge AppJam, is part-funded by the Interreg 'Creative City Challenge' project ( www.creative-city-challege.net ).

Created by Dundee College and supported by industry partners, the three day AppConference is an event looking at the creation and development of applications for new platforms such as the iPad, iPhone, Android and Facebook. It promises to explore the issues facing the new generation of developers, creating applications for some of the world's largest and most rapidly evolving platforms.

Tickets for AppCon can be purchased at an early bird price of ?99 (plus VAT) until October 4, available for ?125 thereafter.

Tickets include the NeoN digital arts festival are also available at an early bird price of ?150 (plus VAT), jumping up to ?175 after October 4.
