Intent Media acquires CTO from Trinity Mirror
Independent business magazine specialist Intent Media has completed the acquisition of leading IT trade title CTO (Computer Trade Only) from I.T. Trade Publishing Limited, a subsidiary of Trinity Mirror, the UK's largest newspaper publisher.
CTO had been published for 10 years as a fortnightly title, with a circulation of around 14,000.
It will now cease publication as a standalone title and be incorporated into Intent Media's market-leading trade monthly PC Retail - which has achieved great success since its own launch three years ago.
PC Retail is targeted at all retailers and suppliers within the home computing and small business sector. It has an ABC-audited circulation of 10,493 for the 12 months December 2005.
Intent Media will fully incorporate CTO into PC Retail. Total circulation will be increased and editorial remit will be widened, providing the computer and IT channel with an unrivalled, high-quality monthly trade publication stretching across both print and online.
"CTO is a fantastic title and will live on within PC Retail. We're delighted to be extending our reach in the sector," commented Intent Media managing director Stuart Dinsey.
Intent Media also publishes MCV: The Market for Home Computing & Video
Games, Mobile Entertainment, Develop Magazine, ToyNews, Musical Instrument
Professional and BikeBiz.
The CTO acquisition follows the acquisition and relaunch of both Musical Instrument Professional and BikeBiz earlier this year.
The company also runs awards events and a highly successful contract publishing division.
