Intel's 4Kings To Challenge Public To Gaming 'Duel'

Professional gamers, 4Kings, begin UK tour with Intel and PC World to demonstrate Dual-Core gaming capabilities

London, UK, 9 September 2005 - Intel today announced the launch of a gaming tour that will see professional gamers, 4Kings, challenge customers at PC World stores across the UK. The Intel sponsored team, with award winning team members from Europe and South Korea, will be demonstrating its skills throughout the tour on the latest dual-core Intel processor based desktop platforms and letting the public face some of the world's best gamers.

The 4Kings team will appear in 10 PC World stores around the country over a 12 week period, with the first event on 10 September, pitting its gaming skills against members of the public as it strives to retain world-class status. PC World customers will be able to challenge the professional cyberathletes for a chance to win one of 50 Intel® dual-core processors and motherboards along with various other prizes.

During the PC World tour, the gaming battles will be played out on desktop PCs based on the Intel® Pentium® D processor with Intel® 945G Express Chipset. The technology, launched earlier this year, significantly improves the gaming experience by offering enhanced graphics capabilities and supporting surround sound audio and high definition video.

"Intel is delighted to be able to offer the public the chance to challenge a world-leading team like the 4Kings, allowing them to experience the thrill of PC gaming, made even more realistic with the enhanced graphics and surround sound capabilities offered by Intel's dual-core technology," said David Mitchell, European Marketing Manager, Intel. "By investing and working with the gaming community across the world, Intel is able to offer both professionals and amateurs an enhanced gaming experience."

"As we are constantly competing with the best players in the world, our relationship with Intel is really important. It means we have access to the most up-to-date technology that allows us to practise and develop our gaming skills by taking advantage of the wide range of features from the Intel platform, particularly with the new dual-core capabilities" commented Philip Wride, Manager of 4Kings. "We are excited about the PC World tour, and it will be fun to see if we can handle the competition that the public could pose."

"We are very pleased to be working with Intel and 4Kings to be able to offer our customers this fantastic opportunity to challenge some of the best gamers in the world and have the chance to win Intel's latest dual-core processor and motherboard," said Neil Old, Commercial Director, PC World. "It is an exciting series of events to be involved with and we think our customers will have fun. May the best gamers win!."
